Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of psyehologieal intervention on postoperative pain in pa-tients undergoing thoracic surgery. Methods The patients were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. Patients in experimental group were received extra care with psychological intervention. Visual analogue pain rating scale (VAS) was employed to investigate 63 patients undergoing thoracic surgery. The usage of pain-killer was also considered in the evaluation. Results The VAS score was sigaificantly lower in experimental group than that in control group (P < 0. 01) . Patients in experimental group used significantly less drug than those in control group (P < 0. 01) . Conclusions Preoperative psychological intervention is effective on postoperative pain control in patients with thoracic surgery.
