Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of hanging postural nursing intervention on the quality of life at home in elderly women with stroke. Methods A total of 101 female patients with urinary incontinence in this department were divided into the experimental group and the control group according to random number table method, with 51 cases in the experimental group and 50 cases in the control group. The control group was given routine nursing method of urinary incontinence. The adult diapers were used in the control group. They were replaced in time after each urination, and perineal irrigation was given regularly. On the basis of conventional nursing methods, the test group used the comfortable functional position suspension device to maintain the patient's hanging position, so that the perineum could leave the bed surface, and avoiding the urine soaking pollution. The buttock under the disposable pad was used to clean the perineum in time, and replace the pad.The quality of life of the two groups was assessed by the urinary incontinence score (I-QOL) at discharge and half a year after discharge. Results The quality of life was improved in both groups at discharge, but the quality of life in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group.Telephone follow-up was conducted six months after discharge, and the quality of life of the experimental group was still higher than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusions The hanging postural nursing intervention in hospital can effectively train the bladder function of elderly stroke female patients with urinary incontinence, reshape the ability to urinate, and improve the short-term quality of life in home after discharge. In order to improve the long-term quality of life of the patients, the hanging position nursing intervention is worthy to be popularized and applied to communities and families.
