Abstract

In this work, the effect of vacuum annealing on the erosion resistance of infiltrated W-10wt%Cu composite against the impact of alumina droplets at 3000°C, was studied. SEM images were employed to identify the microstructure evolution. The obtained results indicated that the post-sintering annealing reduced erosion rate from 19.7% to 11.2%.
