Abstract

Novel MnO2-doped BaTiO3 (BT) ceramics with non-reducibility are synthesized by conventional solid-state route. The effects of MnO2-doped and sintering atmosphere on dielectric properties, microstructure, phase structure and defect structure are systematically investigated. EPR results indicate that manganese exists in the form of +2 valence, which keeps BT ceramics with excellent dielectric properties even sintered in reducing atmosphere. With 0.2 mol% MnO2 doped, the sample sintered in H2-N2 exhibits high dielectric constant (2700@1kHz), low loss tangent (0.98%@1kHz) and excellent insulation resistivity (8.68 × 1011Ω·cm), supplying an effective method for the preparation of non-reducible MLCC materials by introducing multivalent ions.
