Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of microwave combined with magnesium sulfate in treatment of peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) catheter to mechanical phlebitis. Methods 75 patients with mechanical phlebitis were randomly divided into two groups, the observation group (40 cases ) was given microwave treatment + 50% magnesium sulfate after heated and gauzed to soak in the inflammatory area 1 -2d,50% magnesium sulfate gauze is soaked, heating tile on inflammation in the area,2 - 3times/d,30min/time, continuous use 2 -3d. Results The observation group cure 37 cases (92.5%) ,2 cases were markedly improved (5.0%) ,effective 1 case (2.5%) ,invalid 0 case (0.0%) ,control group were 18 cases (51.4%) ,4 cases (11.4%) ,8 cases (22.8%) ,5 cases ( 14.3% ), respectively. The difference of cure rate between two groups was statistically significant (X^2 = 17. 224,P 〈0. 05 ). Conclusion The effect of microwave combined with magnesium sulfate in treatment mechanical phlebitis is remarkable.
