Abstract

A marked inhibition of polysaccharide synthesis by decreasing extracellular H-Ion Concentration has been shown. The decreased synthesis was found to be mainly associated with an inhibition of the synthesis of low molecular weight, trichloroacetic acid soluble, α1–4 linked glucose polymers.
