Abstract
Objective To study the effect of early bed restorative exercise on gastrointestinal function of elderly patients with biliary surgery. Methods From December 2008 to February 2012, 126 cases accepted abdominal surgery were selected and divided randomly into early exercise and non- early exercise groups, each group had 63 cases. Early exercise group was given early bed restorative exercise. The time of eating, gastrointestinal ventilation, bowel sounds sound recovery, defecate time were compared. Results The gastrointestinal symptoms of early exercise group was significantly less, the start time of eating was earlier; the gastrointestinal ventilation time, bowel sounds sound recovery, hospital stay, defecate time were less than those of non- early exercise group(P< 0.05). Conclusions Early bed restorative exercise could speed up the recovery of elderly patients with biliary surgery. Key words: Early recovery exercise; Biliary operation; Gastrointestinal function
