Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines whether or not a child experiencing domestic violence affects their experience of academic stress in the South Korean cultural context. We used a nationally representative sample from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) to examine the association of domestic violence with academic stress. The results revealed a significant positive association between domestic violence experience and academic stress. As such, this study discuses mitigating strategies against domestic violence in the South Korean cultural context. Moreover, the findings of this study suggests that effective intervention must be developed to prevent academic stress.
