Abstract

Many researchers have paid attention to metamaterial based on paper as a recyclable material In this work, we studied the effect of cross-shaped line width on the absorbance performance of terahertz metamaterial. Cross-shaped unit cell was designed on paper with 100 μm thickness. Ground metal plate was placed on the other side of the paper. The maximum and minimum of the absorbance peak reached around 96 % with 20 μm line width and 50 % with 5 μm line width, respectively. The high absorbance was caused by multiple reflection phenomena on spacer. The numerical and analytical calculation show good agreement.
