Abstract
Local cerebral blood flows were measured using the hydrogen clearance technique. This was found to be a satisfactory method. During hypothermia, maintenance of an F ECO 2 above 5% is accompanied by higher LCBF while the opposite occurs with hyperventilation to 3% F ECO 2.
