Abstract

1. Decerebration reduced the increase in peeps observed in normal 5-day old chicks injected with d-amphetamine. 2. The increase in short calls, the appearance of forced locomotion, head shakes and wing drooping, and the decrease in the duration of eye closure were not affected. 3. Forebrain mechanisms are considered important for the generation of amphetamine-induced peeps, but not other behaviour.
