Abstract

A few years ago The Institute of Physics published a pamphlet, with the title The Scientific Education of Physicists, which commented onj some aspects of the education and training of physicists, and listed information concerning the facilities available in the Universities and some of the Technical Colleges of this country. Traditionally physicists have been trained in the Universities, and until quite recently such a training provided the one road into the profession. Some physicists, however, came up the hard way through the Technical Colleges and obtained a degree qualification after years of attendance at evening classes.
