Abstract

SUMMARYDwarf bearded iris hybrids reported to have been produced by Goos and Koeneman form crosses of Iris pumila and Iris germanica were determined from cytological examination of their somatic chromosomes to have karyotypes like those of Iris italica and other similar 40-chromosome dwarf species and cultivars, sometimes incorrectly referred to as pumila dwarfs.
