Abstract

The article discusses the effect of astrometric (weak) microlensing, which is very important to take into account in the reduction and analysis of astrometric observations that could be obtained with existing and planned new-generation instruments. An analytical solution of an equation describing the duration of a weak microlensing event derived earlier by Sazhin et al. (2011) is presented. This analytical expression for the duration of a weak microlensing event can facilitate understanding of the durations obtained earlier by Sazhin et al. via numerical computations.
