Abstract

ABSTRACT China’s ascent to spacepower has far-reaching implications for international relations and global governance. This study examines China’s quest for space dominance, focusing on its strategic capabilities, technological advancements, and policy intentions. The findings suggest that China’s spacepower is a formidable force, posing a significant challenge to the U.S. dominance in space. China’s reliance on space assets for communication, navigation, surveillance, and military operations underscores its growing importance as a regional and global player. Furthermore, China’s adaptation of asymmetric strategies, including the development of anti-satellite capabilities, highlights its determination to compete with the United States in space. This research concludes that understanding China’s spacepower is crucial for assessing its future role in international relations and the global governance of outer space. As China continues to invest in its space program, it is essential to monitor its progress and implications for global security and cooperation.
