It is concluded that recent data strengthen the earlier conclusion that this number has great significance. The distribution of redshifts among QSOs, N-systems, and some compact systems and radio galaxies which are closely related in their physical characteristics and in which only emission lines are seen is then investigated. It is shown that there appears to be a significant redshift peak at z = 0.061 and possibly at some multiples of this value. There appears to be no effect of this kind in the redshifts of normal galaxies. The implication of these results is briefly described, and it is concluded that large intrinsic-redshift components may often be present Publication: The Astrophysical Journal Pub Date: November 1968 DOI: 10.1086/180265 Bibcode: 1968ApJ...154L..41B full text sources ADS | data products NED (20) SIMBAD (19)
