Abstract
The period of War Communism jolted people out of the stable and accustomed routines of life and shaped both distinctive life-style and special kind of social psychology: willingness to make do with little, the habits of difficult period when everything was done as though in an army on the march, an internalized asceticism, passionate striving for future in which a sunny and rich land whose outlines could only barely be detected lay past mountains of sorrow.
