The Dirichlet-problem for harmonic maps from the disk into a lorentzian warped product

Abstract

In this paper we prove the existence and the regularity of a harmonic map from the disk of R2 into the Lorentz manifold S2×Rβ, with a given boundary condition. Since the energy functional is not bounded from below, we search for its critical points which are not minima.
