Abstract
The formulas for the mean-squared dipole moment and end-to-end length of the isotactic vinyl polymer are derived. The polymer model used in these derivations is similar to Lifson's one 1) , but the dependence of these mean-squared quantities on molecular weight of the polymer is considered in the present calculations. The two mean-squared quantities, dipole moment and end-to-end length, are not independent of each other, and it is pointed out that they are connected by a simple expression. On the other hand, the present treatment is useful to see the corrected Staudinger's viscosity rule from a new point of view.
