Abstract

The digital transformation of education in general and legal education in particular is an irreversible trend. Consequently, the electronic learning model is one of the clearest manifestations of this process. In addition to analyzing the electronic learning model theoretically and practically, This article discusses the general issues surrounding the digital transformation of education. The authors concentrate on investigating the circumstances in relation to legal education and the practice of implementing electronic learning activites at several legal education institutions in Ho Chi Minh City, such as University of Economics and Law (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance(UEF). In particular, the article concentrates on investigating issues such as (i) learning management system; (ii) the level and method of interaction; (iii) human resources; and (iv) students' perspectives on electronic learning. Actual data show that several legal education institutions in Ho Chi Minh City are in the early stages of digital transformation, which is demonstrated by the enaction of policies to encourage the transition of the learning model from face-to-face to electronic learning in some modules. The learning management system has been established and is constantly being updated. However, there are still problems that need to be addressed, including the issues of human resources, interactive models, and the effectiveness of the current learning management system model.
