Abstract

The introduction of the so-called /spl alpha/-forms for studying the behavior of electromagnetic field components in the vicinity of antennas with fractal properties is considered. To estimate the /spl alpha/-forms, some possible algorithms are formulated, namely a geometric one involving the evaluation of the Hausdorff measure and an analytical algorithm permitting the Hausdorff measure to be evaluated through the application of fractional derivatives and integrals. Far-field patterns of the fractal /spl alpha/-pole antennas are calculated.
