Abstract

In this work, the dielectric and mechanical properties of NaCu3Ti3NbO12 based ceramics preparing by mixed oxide method doped with a small amount of MgO and Al2O3 nano-particles. The precursors were ball-milled for 24 hours and calcined at 950°C for 24 hours. The calcined powders were doped with (0-0.5 vol%) MgO and Al2O3 nano-particles and pressed into a disc shape. The green bodies were sintered at 1000°C for 10 hours. Phase formation and microstructure by XRD and SEM, respectively. The morphology of samples is rectangular grain shape and normal grain growth is observed. Density of the sintered samples was measured by Archimedes’s method distilled water as the fluid medium. The relative density of modified samples is higher than NaCu3Ti3NbO12 based ceramic; the values are between 86.5 to 92.3%. Dielectric constant of the samples was examined using a LCR meter. The mechanical properties of samples were investigated by Vickers and Knoop microhardness tester. The results showed that, the NaCu3Ti3NbO12 ceramics doped with a small amount of MgO and Al2O3 nano-particle are shown improves dielectric constant and microhardness.
