The Development of Telecommunication Space of Ukraine in the Context of the Building of Information Society

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to study the telecommunication market conditions in Ukraine, determine its development trends, and describe the overarching challenges.Research methodology. The author uses the general scientific and special research methods, in particular statistic methods for the analysis of official statistics and expert inspection of business analysts’ data, generalization method and comparison method defining dynamics and structure of telecommunication market in Ukraine, and diagram method giving the possibility to increase data verification. Results. The article is concerned with the conditions and development prospects of telecommunication market in Ukraine. The main tendencies of telecommunication enterprises activities were specified. The importance of national and foreign investments for subscriber growth was determined. Having analyzed the quality coefficients of corporate activities, the author considers the total level of telecommunication enterprises profitability. The tendencies and prospects of telecommunication market conditions in Ukraine were examined. The article describes the overarching challenges of business operation in the information field and telecommunication market.Novelty. This paper proposes a new approach to the theoretical and methodological guidelines and recommendations for the improvement of the telecommunication market through the expansion of partnership with European companies in the context of creating a single information space, international transit traffic, and outsourcing of telecommunication services. In the course of the study, the general trends and features of the telecommunication industry development are examined, and the obstacles hindering the development of the information society in Ukraine are identified.The practical significance of the results is to increase the significance of the development of the telecommunication space of Ukraine in the context of building the information society. The telecommunication industry has a number of specific features. Its development affects many spheres of socio-economic life, provides the implementation of numerous business processes, the use of modern communication technologies, operational communication and data transmission.Key words: telecommunication enterprises, information society, information space.
