Abstract
ABSTRACTThe need for maintaining technological leadership in the deep submergence field is given recognition, with particular reference to manned submersibles.A design sequence is outlined to illustrate how operating crew requirements must be satisfied very early in the design process to insure maximum overallmission effectiveness.The necessity for more technologists and “totally immersed” projects to manage future vehicle technology efforts is also addressed.
