Abstract

Integrating cinema into the teaching of French as a Foreign Language (FFL) offers a unique opportunity to develop learners' intercultural competence by immersing them in the cultural diversity of the Francophone world. This article explores how cinema can promote intercultural understanding by exposing learners to a variety of cultural perspectives. It emphasizes the importance of film studies, or filmology, in education, and highlights efforts to integrate image and film analysis into educational programs, despite some persistent obstacles.
