Abstract

In the present study we analyze the learning achievements obtained by applying the phases of the Lesson Study model in the pre-professional teaching practice, through the use of an e-portfolio. The research involved 72 students from three carrers of Educational Sciences from the Universidad Tecnica de Machala (Ecuador), distributed in two control groups and one experimental group. The study was conducted during the pre-professional practices developed from May / 2017 to August / 2017. The three groups implemented the Lesson Study phases in pre-professional practice, but only the experimental group used the e-portfolio as an online platform to facilitate collaborative work. The results revealed that the use of an e-portfolio significantly favored learning achievement. It is concluded, as an approximation, that the e-portfolio improves the interaction of students at any time and place, asynchronously, facilitates the understanding of the functional elements of each of the stages of the Lesson Study and strengthens its application in the pre professional practices, constituting an emergent tool to promote the shared learning.
