Abstract

This study aimed to develop comic a valid and feasible teaching material using the PBL model on the global warming material of seventh grade junior high school. This teaching material development also aimed to be employed in a self-learning setting by students during the Covid-19 pandemic era. The development study model used a model developed by William W. Lee & Diana L. Owens up to three stages, i.e., (1) assessment/analysis, consisting of the need analysis and front-end analysis, (2) design, and (3) development. The product validation was carried out by material and media experts, and the readability test by students. The study results show that the developed teaching material was included in the very feasible category with the percentages for material validity and feasibility of 93.1%, media of 95.3%, and readability of 83.9%. It can be concluded that the PBL comic teaching material can be used as the learning source in science learning processes, particularly in the global warming material, both in and out of the class.
