Abstract

This report deals with an attempt to ap praise the outcomes of instruction in spelling in grade II in Cincinnati. A fifty-word spell ing test was constructed for this purpose. The procedures used in constructing the test, as well as the results of the test for over four thousand second-grade pupils, are described in the discussion which follows.
