Abstract

The paper reviews the part programming aspects of the application methods of modern CNC systems. An architecture of the CNC control software system is proposed, in which the CNC would accept besides elementary machine tool instructions both descriptions of actual higher-level machining tasks and programs, describing how can these tasks be solved. All these programs would then be executed by a common CNC processor. The languages, in which these different types of programs are represented are different to make them convenient for their users. The language of the elementary machine tool instructions and actual machining task descriptions are oriented towards the machining technology the other resemble high-level computer languages. Programming examples illustrate the use of the proposed languages.
