Abstract

A few representative examples of the deuteron wavefunction derived in the quark compound bag method are presented. Using these functions the authors calculate the low-energy deuteron parameters, the magnetic form factor and the ratio of inclusive (e,e') cross sections on the polarised deuteron. The six-quark bag corrections to the magnetic and quadrupole static moments of the deuteron are calculated. They conclude that the QCB description reproduces the deuteron properties at a level comparable with that of the best phenomenological methods.
