Abstract

The effects of the size, the number, and the intervals between the perforations in stock metal trays on the retention of irreversible hydrocolloid impression material were investigated. Tensile and shear tests were made using square plate experimental trays. Then, the clinical performances of partial arch trays with the same type of retentive systems were compared.
