Abstract

The paper describes the design and construction of a parallel-type cathode-ray-tube storage system built to operate with the Manchester University Mark II machine. The term ‘read around ratio’ is defined and a new method for its measurement is described. An address-control system and a method for displaying the contents of the main store are also discussed.
