Abstract

This paper describes the process and procedures involved in the design and development of a gravel pit specifically for wildlife. The initial proposals, the agreement between the operator and the Development Corporation and the development and implementation of the nature conservation plan are described. The habitats created range from the construction of an otter holt to the restoration of grassland, incorporating wildflower seed.
