Abstract

Background: Anxiety during dental treatment that arisesfrom childhood is an ob-stacle for children in dental care. The method for dealing with anxiety in chil-dren can be a combination of video games and playing, which is used to distract children from something that makes them uncomfortable, anxious or afraid by playing mobile video games in the form of videos that can be moved and educa-tion on dental and oral hygiene. Objective: To determine the effect of the mobile dentist game playing method on reducing anxiety levels in dental care for class II children. Methods: The research design was pre-experimental re-search design with one group pre-test and post-test design. The type of research used is the Wilcoxon test on 21 children. Anxiety levels were measured using the Face Image Scale anxiety measuring instrument. Results: Most of the children experienced category 4 anxiety level, which was 38.1% anxious before using the mobile dentist game method and after being given the game playing method, there were 42.9% of children experiencing category 2 anxiety level, which was not anxious with the Asymp.sign (2-tailed) value of 0.001 <0.05, it can be con-cluded that there is an effect of the mobile dentist game playing method on re-ducing anxiety levels in dental care for grade II children. Conclusion: There is an effect of the mobile dentist game playing method on reducing anxiety levels in dental care for grade II children.
