Abstract
The new constitutive model for clay is based on the Modified Cam clay model. This is a well-known model, which was developed in the nineteen-sixties in Cambridge, and will be summarized in the first section of this paper. After evaluating the Modified Cam clay model, an improved model will be presented. With this Delft Egg model it is possible to control the predicted K 0-value for one-dimensional compression. For the formulation of the Delft Egg model, one additional parameter α will be introduced, but later this parameter a appears to be dependent on a few other Modified Cam clay parameters andK 0.
