Abstract

Using the atomic beam technique and photon excitation with monochromatized synchrotronradiation, the photoelectron spectra from the decays of the 2p → ndresonances of atomic Sc in the region between 397 and 410 eV were investigated. The analysis of the photoelectron spectra was performed with Hartree–Fockcalculations for the excitation and the decay of the 2p resonances. Goodagreement between experimental and theoretical spectra enabled us to assign themain structures of the spectra to definite transitions, with the participation ofelectrons from the inner 3s and 3p subshells, as well as from the 3d and 4s valencesubshells.
