Abstract
Resonant photoionization of Na atoms in the 2p subshell, in the photon energy range of the 2s threshold, has been studied using synchrotron radiation and photoelectron spectroscopy. The results show that the conjugate shake-up satellite dominates the behaviour of the total cross-section in this photon energy range, demonstrating the strong influence of many-electron effects on the observed cross-sections.
