Abstract

The decay of 145Ce and 148Pr has been studied with a Ge(Li) spectrometer using singles and coincidence counting techniques. Fifteen gamma rays have been assigned to the decay of 145Ce and incorporated into a decay scheme of eight levels. A further 43 gamma rays have been assigned to the 148Pr activity. Of these, 35 have been incorporated into a decay scheme involving 17 excited states of 148Nd. The half-lives of the isotopes were found to be: 145Ce, 2.78+or-0.08 min; 148Pr, 2.28+or-0.05 min.
