Abstract

Theγ-ray spectrum of the decay of 162mHo to levels in 162Dy has been studied with Ge(Li) detectors. The results are in agreement with recent extensive studies of the level scheme of 162Dy by a variety of experimental methods. In addition, evidence was found for population of levels at 1390.5, 1400.3 and 1453.6 keV which are assigned I π = 5 −, 2 + and 2 +, respectively. The log ft value suggests that the 1390 keV state has the two-quasiparticle configuration ⦅ p[411↑]; p[523↑]⦆5 − . The half-life of 162mHo has been measured to be 63.5±1.9 min.
