Abstract

The decay of 132La was investigated by means of beta-ray spectrometers, Ge(Li) detectors and coincidence techniques employing scintillation and Ge(Li) detectors. The existence of levels in 132Ba at 464.2 (2 +), 1031.1 (2 +) and 1127.0 keV (4 +) was confirmed. New levels at 1667 (4 +), 1685, 1728, 2067 (3 −, 2 −), 2373 (3 −, 2 −), 2566 (3 −), 3155, 3217, 3423, 3492, 3562, 3633 and 3662 keV were established from energy, intensity and (partly) coincidence information. The 132La ground state spin and parity were determined as 2 −. The data are discussed in terms of the vibrational model.
