The cycloalkylation of cyclopentadiene by functionally substituted 1,2-dibromoethanes under phase transfer catalysis conditions as a general method for the synthesis of derivatives of spiro [2,4] hepta-4,6-diene

Abstract

A general method was developed for the preparation of 1-functionally-substituted spiro-[2,4]hepta-4,6-dienes in 50–95% yield by the reaction of cyclopentadiene and the corresponding substituted 1,2-dibromoethanes under phase transfer catalysis conditions.
