Abstract
Curved bulk material is required in a radial bearing. To reduce the damage and the dust caused by curving, the bulk materials with the convex and the concave shapes of the Ag-doped SmBaCuO-system superconductors were prepared by bending the precursors in a melt process. The orientation of the bulk material was not curved although the surface was curved. The entire arch shaped bulk material had the same the orientation as the seed. The trapped magnetic field of the bulk material formed a single dome shape with the maximum trapped magnetic flux density of about 1.2 T.
