The current Chinese Code on wind loading and comparative study of wind loading codes

Abstract

This paper reviews the change of Chinese Code relating to wind loading since 1952. The formula of along-wind response, which has been adopted in current Chinese Loading Code, has been derived, and the formula of across-wind response, which will be adopted in Chinese Design Code of Tower Structures has been also introduced. For comparison, it is significant to give the computational results of wind pressure obtained according to the codes of five countries, respectively, for a designated structure.
