Abstract
Using the effective field theory with a probability distribution technique, we apply the Ising model in a transverse field with long-range interactions to study ferroelectric films. The dependence of the Curie temperature on the thickness of the film, the surface interaction and the transverse field was investigated. It is assumed that the long-range interaction decays with the distance between the pseudo-spins as a power law.
