Abstract

AbstractLorentz symmetries in solids become evident if the soliton properties of kinks on dislocations for the measurement of length and time are used. This procedure can be extended for deriving the complete theory of special relativity, thus reversing the traditional way. The continuum approximation of the crystalline lattice with dislocations appears as a model for a relativistic space‐time.
