Abstract

The Catholic Psychotherapy Association (CPA) has drafted and promulgated a professional code of ethics. This code was an unprecedented undertaking for the more than 20-year-old organization. This project and the associated tasks emerged from the most recent Strategic Planning Member Survey. This member survey is completed every 2 years to gauge the needs and interests of our members. The CPA Board of Directors assumes the mission outlined in the member survey, which honors the vision of the founding members of CPA. This article explores the drafting of the CPA Ethics Code, which is the fruit of the Board's mission to respond to and honor the voice of membership and the mission established by its founding members. So you may ask, what led to the development of the first ever CPA Ethics Code?
