Abstract

New asymptotic expressions for the Coulomb integrals are derived and compared with numerical results, the Watson asymptotics and the WKB approximations. The analytical expressions for the Coulomb integrals are used in cross section calculations for single-nucleon transfer reactions in the framework of the diffraction model. The case of the zero orbital angular momentum transfer is considered. The interference effects of the Fresnel and Fraunhofer parts of the reaction amplitude are discussed in detail. The undertaken treatment can be useful for the interpretation of the associated experimental data and the results of DWBA calculations.
