Abstract

This paper aims to examine the correlation between mutual fund managers' personal attributes and operational behaviour characteristics and fund performance. The result shows that the performance of male fund managers is significantly superior to that of female fund managers; the performance of the fund managers with Bachelor degree is significantly superior to that of the fund managers with Master or Ph.D. degree; the performance of senior fund managers is significantly superior to that of junior fund managers. In addition, the lower cash reserve proportions, the better fund performance, whereas the higher concentration degree of holdings, the better fund performance.
