Abstract

Abstract This article discusses the relationships between the emerging curriculum managers and the forces which constitute the political power context of further education. Recent organisational methods of controlling the curriculum are identified, together with their limitations in leading to the implementation of innovations due to power being dissipated throughout the system and inadequately trained teachers. An understanding of this political power framework may help those who want to influence or manage the curriculum.
