Abstract

The article provides a structural and logical comparison of two theoretical approaches - Marxism and world-system approach. This comparison is applied to explain the current international situation. The comparison allows us to draw a conclusion about the difference in starting positions, which leads to different versions of the explanation of current processes in the world economy and world politics. At the same time, it reveals a number of similar points in the recording of certain events, social phenomena as key ones, as well as the typological isomorphism of both theoretical positions. The applied method of researching scientific texts allows us to design an expert system of institutional knowledge for the purpose of modeling international relations.
